West Virginia Contractor License (WV)

A contractors license is required in West Virginia (WV) for virtually an aspect of construction where the project is valued over $1,000.  Any electrical performed for compensation must be by a licensed electrician.  To become a licensed contractor, candidates are required to pass two examinations: business and law and the trade.  Applications for electrical licensure can be obtained by calling 1-304-558-2191 ext. 219.  Applications for all other licenses can be obtained by calling 1-304-558-9551.  Examinations can be scheduled through ProV by calling 1-866-720-7768 .
